The special exhibition "Mikael Melbye - Portraits" is on display at Frederiksborg Castle from February 5th to April 10th 2011
The solo exhibition features a variety of Mikael Melbye's private and official portrait works, including the recently revealed portrait of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.
The museum writes:
"Mikael Melbye has become an established portrait artist in Denmark. To honour the occasion of the portrait of the chairman of The Carlsberg Foundation, Povl Krogsgaard-Larsen, which is made by Mikael Melbye for "Det Nationalhistoriske Museum på Frederiksborg", a special exhibition is on display, giving the spectators insight into the work of the artist through a number of portraits".
